Turkey Talk
My latest offering for your Thanksgiving consideration
Greetings, all!
Today, I have the honor of having my first article published on Christianity Today. I knew this article was coming, but I did not know it would take up the top spot on the homepage such that it did, and I am FULL OF BEANS about it.
BEHOLD:
If you’re new around here, I have a thing about Wild Turkeys. I gradually fell in love with them and their conservation success story after writing and producing a 4 part series about it for Niche to Meet You. It was actually after this released that the Apple New & Noteworthy pick happened, which only reiterated my little quirky belief that the Wild Turkey is my good luck charm (a thing I don’t really believe in, but it’s fun to say).
Anyway - because my love of the things has become famous among my friends, I was asked by Clarissa Moll — my executive producer and editor for the Russell Moore Show (we initially worked together at The Bulletin) — to write an article. 1500 words, she said.
3500 words later, I realized I’d gone too far.
It was cut down to spec, but who knows where those extra 2000 words will show up again. Maybe there’s a book in the works? Who knows.
So if you want to get a glimmer of why I am a turkey nut, I welcome you to read today’s article.
Happy thanksgiving to you and yours.
